He received his Doctor of Medicine from St. George’s University and completed his residency in Internal Medicine at Lenox Hill Hospital of New York University Medical Center. He has been practicing in Atlanta since 1994 and is licensed in Georgia and New York. Dr. David Morris, MD
David Morris is an attending physician and the Vice President of Pride Medical, Inc. He received his Doctor of Medicine from Emory University and completed his residency in Family Medicine at Memorial Medical Center in Savannah, Georgia. Dr. Morris was the Medical Director and Attending Physician of the Georgia Highlands Medical Services, Inc. in Cumming, Georgia from 1987 until coming to Pride Medical, Inc. in 2000. Dr. Morris is board certified in Family Medicine by the American Board of Family Medicine and certified in HIV care by the American Academy of HIV Medicine.Dr. Morris is a member of the American Medical Association, Southern Medical Association, the Academy of Family Practice and Medical Association of Georgia. He is an active member of the Piedmont Hospital Medical Staff. He served on the Board of Directors for the Living Room for four years and lectures and volunteers for the AIDS Alliance of Faith and Health (Thrive). Additionally, Dr. Morris was a volunteer physician for the Peachtree Road Race for five years. Dr. Morris is accepting new patients.
Dr. Amy Swartz, MD
Amy Swartz, MD, DABIM, AAHIVS, is an Attending Physician with Pride Medical, Inc. Dr. Swartz received her medical degree from the Medical College of Georgia and completed her residency in Internal Medicine at Emory University. Before joining the staff at Pride Medical in 2001, Dr. Swartz was a Senior Medical Associate at the Grady Infectious Disease Center for 10 years. She is Board Certified from the American Board of Internal Medicine and is certified in HIV care by the American Academy of HIV Medicine. Dr. Swartz is a member of the American Medical Association, Southern Medical Association and Medical Association of Georgia. She is accepting new patients.
Rodney Fox, PhD, APRN
Rodney Fox is an Adult Nurse Practitioner at Pride Medical, Inc. As such, he assumes responsibility for the diagnosis and management of acute and chronic illness. He works independently and/or in collaboration with the other health care professionals at Pride Medical, Inc. Dr. Fox received his Bachelor of Science in Nursing from East Tennessee State University, his Masters of Science in Nursing from Emory University (Adult Nurse Practitioner), and his doctoral degree (PhD) in nursing from the University of Wisconsin. He also is certified in HIV care by the American Academy of HIV Medicine, as well as being an AIDS Certified Registered Nurse. Terry Hackworth is an Adult Nurse Practitioner at Pride Medical, Inc., where he assumes responsibility for the diagnosis and management of acute and chronic illness. Mr. Hackworth received his Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Morehead State University, his Masters of Business Administration from the University of Phoenix and his Masters of Science in Nursing specializing as an Adult/Gerontological Nurse Practitioner from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. Dr. Sherry Meltz, PsyD
Dr. Sherry Meltz is the Professional Mental Health Counselor for Pride Medical, Inc. She holds a Doctorate in Psychology from California State University, a Master’s Degree in Community Counseling from Georgia State University, and a Master’s in Secondary Education from Western Maryland College. Dr. Meltz is the founder of Absolutely Positive+, Inc., a non-profit organization which provided services and counseling for those challenged with HIV disease an their caregivers. In 1999, Dr. Meltz opened Absolute Wellness: The BRAC Center, offering free alternative, complimentary and mental health services to those living with HIV and AIDS. Dr. Meltz specializes in treating depression, anxiety and issues related to addiction, as well as relationship and communication counseling. Sherry currently serves on the Gay Men’s Health Summit Board of Directors and provides workshop and training programs nationally and internationally, having worked in the gay community for 22 years.Dr. Meltz is currently accepting clients at Pride Medical.
